Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA)

 

All foreign visitors who wish to enter the Republic of Korea must obtain K-ETA permission to board aircraft and ships bound for Korea. You must apply at least 72 hours before departure by accessing the K-ETA website or mobile app (K-ETA).

 

Important! : Please note that K-ETA requirements are currently temporarily waived for 22 countries/regions from April 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024 (https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/board/viewboarddetail.do?bbsSn=149899). The full list of 22 countries/regions temporarily exempt from K-ETA are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macao, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, US (including Guam). 

Individuals who are citizens of the aforementioned 22 countries/regions are not required to apply for K-ETA.

 

Fee : KRW 10,000 (additional card fee, 3% seperately)

 

· Payment by credit and debit card - automatic calculation of fees by country based on exchange rate.

· If the application is completed with incorrect information, it cannot be corrected and re-application is required, so make sure to reconfirm the information entered before the final payment.

K-ETA is valid for two years after issuance, and the number of arrivals is irrelevant. However, if the validity period of the passport is within two years when applying for K-ETA, the K-ETA is valid only until the validity period of the passport.
* K-ETA is not a visa.The issuance of K-ETA does not guarantee the entry of the Republic of Korea, and the entry availability of Korean immigration officials is finally determined according to the results of the immigration inspection.

Excluded : Multiple Nationalities (with valid Korean passport), USFK active duty soldiers, Flight crew and ferry crew, ABTC holders, transit passengers, UN passport holders, foreigners registered in Korea, Korean visa holders.


Subject to exemption : Those who are eligible for K-ETA application in principle, but have obtained permission by requesting an exemption from our ministry in advance
- Diplomatic, tolerant passport holders, families of active duty soldiers in Korea, members of the U.S. military
