The bare minimum prerequisites are classical mechanics, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics at the undergraduate level. Those fluent with electrodynamics and classical mechanics at the graduate level should find the book and the course easy to follow; prior familiarity with differential geometry would be helpful if not absolutely necessary.
