Part 4+6 Home > Part 4+6

This tab displays detailed announcements for Part 4 and Part 6, which will cover anomalies comprehensively. It covers standard affairs, such as ABJ anomaly and Fujikawa, covariant vs. consistent, anomaly descent, anomaly matching, and anomaly inflows. Much attention is paid to how the mechanics of diffeomorphism anomalies differ from the gauge/flavor anomalies. Here, some of the lore you may have picked up casually in the past will prove inadequate; the word "remedial" should be taken seriously once more. We then proceed to the matter of Weyl anomalies, to motivate the fundamental string theory. Along the way, we will also have the opportunity to observe Hawking radiation as a byproduct, albeit in a limited context of two-dimensional dilaton-gravity. Zoom links and main lecture notes shall be distributed separately.
